It has become very easy for me to prepare vegetarian dishes because I have family members who consume these foods. My uncle was the one who helped me the most during this change due to his extensive 25-year experience; his children, my cousins, have also guided me, and I have managed to prepare various menus so I don't get bored with the routine. Likewise, my ex-mother-in-law, who is a nutritionist, has also contributed and given me many tips on this subject.
This decision has changed my life and those around me. Every time I mention my new menu, I notice that most people feel judged, questioned, and immediately reject and do not support me. However, it hasn't been an obstacle for me, and I have already been eating vegetarian food for 5 years. I feel very good both physically and mentally.
After noticing the physical benefits in myself, I started to learn more about animal cruelty, so I also began to stop consuming other products derived from animals.
Adapting to this dietary journey hasn't been difficult; what is challenging is sourcing the ingredients to prepare the dishes since, in Latin America, we don't have all the necessary products for cooking. Particularly here in Cartagena, most products are animal-based, which makes food preparation a bit more complicated.
One month after stopping red meats, I noticed a significant boost in my energy levels and a good mood, especially in the mornings, with a stronger sexual performance. In conclusion, my physical condition improved substantially, and I learned to cook while maintaining a balanced diet. However, I sometimes neglect this aspect a bit.
