Corundas with Red Salsa
Ingredients
1 kilogram of Tamal dough
½ cup of Lard
1 cup of Vegetable broth
4 Tomatoes
1 Small garlic clove
½ Chopped onion
1 Handful of cilantro
1 cup of Crumbled cheese
8 Banana leaves
Preparation
Step 1 : The dough is beaten with the lard and broth until a consistency is achieved that does not stick to the hands.
Step 2 : Add a little salt.
Step 3 : The onion is sautéed with the tomatoes and garlic.
Step 4 : Then, it is cooled and blended to obtain a sauce.
Step 5 : The tamales are formed and placed on banana leaves, then wrapped and steamed for 40 minutes or until the dough is cooked.
Step 6 : They can be served with crumbled cheese and accompanied by rice or a bean stew.
